Life Members
The RAJ’s Life Member endowment is an extraordinary achievement. It is the highest recognition of service the Association can bestow on a member. This achievement is in tribute to their professionalism, expertise and dedicated willingness to serve their colleagues and industry.
Mrs. Charmane Hope Codlin has been a real estate professional for over thirty (35) years having begun her career in 1979. She has worked and partnered with some of the most notables names in the local industry and today is the Qualifying Director and proprietor of Hope Codlin & Associates.
In 1980, Mrs. Codlin joined the REALTORS® Association of Jamaica and spent the next several years serving in various capacities, first as Honorary Secretary in 1985 then ultimately as President in 1993.
Mrs. Codlin has made many worthwhile contributions to the growth and development of the Association commencing with her serving as Hon. Secretary. During that time she was intricately involved in the establishment of the Association’s first office at Hope Road and the registration of the Association as a Limited Liability Company. As Chair of the Fundraising Committee Mrs. Codlin was instrumental for coordinating many functions which enabled the Association to purchase a building on Aldington Avenue which served as the Association’s office for many years. This building was eventually sold and the proceeds of this sale used to purchase the present headquarters at 40 Shortwood Road, a move again initiated by Mrs. Codlin.
Mrs. Codlin has also served as first and second vice President of the Association and eventually as President in 1993, a post she held for five (5) terms. Mrs. Codlin has represented the Association both locally and overseas at REALTORS® Conferences in Bahamas, and made presentations in Atlanta, Miami and New Orleans.
In 2002 the RAJ recognized her for 20 years of dedicated and excellent service to the Association and today we honor her yet again with our most prestigious award, Life Membership.
This award is a testament of the invaluable contribution Mrs. Codlin has made to this esteemed Association is symbol of our appreciation.
