Whether you are applying as a REALTOR®, REALTOR-ASSOCIATE®, RAJ offers membership categories designed to support your career while promoting the highest standards of ethics and professionalism within Jamaica’s real estate industry.
Joining RAJ is simple. Begin by completing the membership application and submitting the required supporting documents. Once your application has been reviewed and approved, you’ll be guided through the remaining steps, including payment of the applicable membership fees. After your membership is confirmed, you’ll gain access to RAJ’s member benefits, resources, and services.
Membership with the Realtors Association of Jamaica (RAJ) provides you with the professional support, resources, and industry recognition needed to thrive in Jamaica’s real estate sector. As a member, you gain access to continuing education and professional development opportunities, industry updates, networking events, advocacy on matters affecting the profession, and valuable member resources.
Be licensed in real estate
Either a licensed real estate dealer (to apply as a REALTOR®) or
A licensed real estate salesperson working under a REALTOR®.
Complete the RAJ membership application form and submit it with the required documents.
Pay the membership fees (joining fee and annual dues).
Your application is reviewed by the Membership Committee and approved by the Board.
Attend the new member orientation session after approval.
Once approved, you become an official RAJ member and can use the REALTOR® designation.

Not at all. Parties should be notified that ombudsman services are available to them, and may decline those services and opt to file a formal complaint instead.
Disputes can often be resolved through the ombudsman process in as little as a few hours or days, depending on the availability of the ombudsman and the parties.
No. Ombudsmen do not determine whether ethics violations have occurred, rather they anticipate, identify, and resolve misunderstandings and disagreements.
The ombudsman process usually involves parties who have not filed an ethics complaint or arbitration request, but have experienced a breakdown in communication requiring informal resolution (although an ombudsman may also be used where a complaint has been filed). Often the ombudsman functions as an intermediary who communicates the concerns of one party to the other over the phone, so a positive relationship can be restored.
Mediation, on the other hand, normally involves monetary disputes (unless the association also offers ethics mediation) where an arbitration request may have been filed. Parties generally meet face-to-face at a prearranged time with their mediator, who encourages both parties to come to a mutually satisfactory resolution of their dispute.
Ombudsmen and mediators often have the same skill set: impartiality, the ability to listen carefully, and the desire to identify and resolve misunderstandings.
If your membership has lapsed or been terminated and you wish to reinstate your membership, please download and fill out the Reinstatement Application Form and return it to the Secretariat. Once your application is processed and approved, you will be sent an email advising of your reinstatement along with your welcome package.
